LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Dec. 29, 2012) - If you are getting a little stir crazy from staying inside your house because of the weather, how about getting out to stretch your legs at the Arkansas Arts Center this weekend?
Since 1973, the Arts Center has created a exhibition of toys designed by artists, delighting both children and adults alike. The tradition continues this year as they celebrate their 38th 'Toys Designed by Artists'.
Artists are challenged to take the concept of a "toy" and make a personal expression with a piece of art. Many of the toys selected will take visitors back to the days before plastic and mass production, when all toys were handmade and engaged the imagination of both maker and user.
The exhibit will be through Sunday, January 6th and admission is free. The Arkansas Arts Center is located at 501 E. 9th Street in Little Rock. Regular musuem hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. They are closed New Year's Day.
