LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Troubled kids in Faulkner County have a passionate and powerful voice in CASA, an advocacy group that deals with some of the most heartbreaking situations.

This morning you can be a hero and be a voice for the victims. LaTresha Woodruff with Conway police and Brandi Wiseman with CASA are here with details.

    Kidsfest Superhero Race
    Saturday, April 6th, 2013

Kidsfest starts at the Faulkner County Courthouse with a 5k fun run for all ages (chip timers available) and a 1k Superhero Race for kids 10 and under (parent can run too). Capes and tights are optional but they sure make it more fun.

After the races the event moves down the street to Simon Park for the awards ceremony and costume parade on stage. Immediately following the Children's Music Festival gets going featuring choirs, dance teams, baton twirlers, gymnasts and cheer leaders from across Faulkner county.

Simon Park is filled with activities for kids of all ages, including bounce house, face painting, arts and crafts, games, food, beverages, and more. All park activities are free, however vendors may charge or request a donation for food, drinks and merchandise.

The theme of the event is "All kids need a hero". Abused kids need a superhero.
