LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - It's that time of year when many men toss out the razors to participate in "No Shave November" and "Movember" to, of course, show off their manly beard and mustache-growing skills, but to also raise awareness for men's health.
NO SHAVE NOVEMBER:
The organization, started in 2009 with less than 50 participants, and has since grown by leaps and bounds. It's based online and is devoted to raising cancer awareness. The goal is simple: "To grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free."
They even encourage women to join in, suggesting not shaving their legs and skipping waxing appointments.
Movember is an official global charity with a vision of having an everlasting impact on the face of men's heatlh. Each November, the organization encourages men to sprout mustaches to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.
THV11 is tracking one Movember team's progress throughout the month. You too can keep up with the guys at Kirkpatrick Creative (kirkpatrickcreative.com) with these photos: http://on.kthv.com/HtgD2c
So, men, are you participating in either? Let us know by commenting below!
