Preview of Arkansas modern gun deer season

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- It's the day thousands of Arkansans are looking forward to: deer season.

    The countdown is on with five days until the opening of modern gun season for deer.

    Modern gun deer season opens Nov. 10 and closes Dec. 2 with times starting 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset.

    The seasonal statewide bag limit is six deer and no more than two legal bucks. The zone limit is four deer with no more than two legal bucks. During muzzleloader and modern gun seasons combined there is no more than two legal bucks and up to two does may be taken.

    Does may be taken during the entire modern gun season. Dogs are allowed Nov. 10 - Dec. 2 in Zone 1A and no dogs in zone 1.
