LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Saturday morning kicked off opening day of hunting season, but currently hunters are facing a bit of a problem when it comes to ammo.

According to the Arkansas Armory, the shortage started at the beginning of the year because of an ammunition scare. Spokespeople said the demand has stayed high ever since, and manufacturers can't keep up with that demand.
General manager Nathan House said almost as soon as bullets are put on the shelf, they're gone.
"I just check all the local hunting stores, and sporting goods stores, and be there first thing in the morning," said House.
Hunters should also be aware of another problem-sticker shock. The shortage is also raising the prices.
