Alabama State's Turkey Day Classic not on Thanksgiving

    Montgomery, AL (Sports Network) - Alabama State will host the annual Turkey Day Classic again this year, but the game won't be played on Thanksgiving Day.

    The 91st Classic will be held Nov. 22 - the Saturday before Thanksgiving - when Division II Stillman College will visit Alabama State for the second straight year. The game will be part of the Southwestern Athletic Conference university's homecoming week.

    Alabama State beat Stillman, 41-28, last Thanksgiving in the oldest running black college football classic in the nation.

    The Hornets, under eighth-year coach Reggie Barlow, will play a 12-game schedule this year, including six at home.
