Arkansas Women's Golf Team Ranked Eighth In GolfWorld

    FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Univ. of Ark.) - The @RazorbackWGolf team is ranked eighth in the latest GolfWorld/WGCA Coaches Poll released today.

    The Razorbacks have completed three of the four fall events on their schedule and are looking ahead to the final fall event, the Alamo Invitational, Oct. 27-29.

    This week's GolfWorld/WGCA poll is the third of the season with Arkansas firmly embedded in the top 10 this season. The Razorbacks picked up 386 points with a 72.04 stroke average for the team.

    Southern California remains in the top spot with 537 points followed by UCLA, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Duke rounding out the top five. Alabama is sixth with Arkansas checking in as the second-highest ranked Southeastern Conference team in the poll.

    There are six SEC teams mentioned in the top 25 with five others receiving votes this week.

    Sophomore Gabriela Lopez posted a one-under 215 leading the third-ranked Razorback women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C., Sunday in recent action. Lopez, a Mexico City, Mexico, native, finished with a final round 69 shooting 70-76-69=215 for the tournament.

    Lopez paced Arkansas to a fourth-place team finish, giving the Razorbacks three top eight finishes including one team title at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate, this fall.
